What Is Gin Rummy?
Gin Rummy is a fast two-player card game about tidy hands. You are dealt ten cards and, on each turn, draw one and discard one, trying to arrange your hand into melds — runs of the same suit and sets of the same rank. The cards left over are your 'deadwood'.
When your deadwood is low enough you can 'knock' to end the hand, or go 'Gin' by melding everything. This version pits you against a single AI opponent, no accounts and no adverts, hand after hand until someone reaches 100.
Why Play Gin Rummy Here
A sharp solo opponent
The AI draws, discards and knocks on real Gin Rummy logic — it takes what helps, sheds what hurts, and will punish a loose knock with an undercut.
Melds sorted for you
Your hand is grouped into its best melds automatically and your deadwood is counted live, so you always know exactly when you are clear to knock.

Gin Rummy — Frequently Asked Questions
- What is deadwood?
- The cards in your hand that are not part of any meld. Each counts its face value — aces are one, faces are ten — and the total is what you try to shrink before you knock.
- When can I knock?
- As soon as your deadwood totals ten or fewer, after you have drawn. Discard one card, lay down your melds, and the hand is scored. Zero deadwood is a Gin.
- What is an undercut?
- If the defender's deadwood is equal to or less than the knocker's, they undercut: they score the difference plus a 25-point bonus instead of the knocker.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Nothing to register or install. Your current match and statistics live in your browser's local storage and clear when you wipe your browsing data.
